Cllr King 

·         Mayor’s Tea Dance on 25th June. 2-5pm The Guildhall.

 

Cllr Ashraf

·         A scheme called Don’t Drop It; Bin It. is being piloted in St James to make the area a litter free zone. This is supported by NBC and Cllr Bottwood will also attend. This is on Fridays 1.30 -2.30pm and youngsters are involved in this. ACTION: Cllr Ashraf to email Nisha details to send out the forum. 

 

IHWO

  • The Chai and Chat is growing from strength to strength. Hosted at Weston Favell Parish Hall every Friday 12-2pm. Open to all women. The group has requested that an expert attend to talk about breast cancer, domestic violence/abuse or diabetes.  ACTION: Pauline Woodhouse to send details of Cop a Feel organisation.
  • Weston Favell Parish Hall is hosting its 5th annual family barbeque. 5pm. Bring your own food and no restrictions on meat.
  • High Tea organised by Chai and Chat on 8th July 12-2pm.
  • Launch of temple fundraising this week 26th May – 1st June 3-6pm at Wellingborough Highfield Leisure Centre.

  • The organisation C2C is looking for another trustee.C2C will receive fundraising.

Julia Bush

  • The AGM for Northampton Al-Bireh (Palestine) Friendship Association is on 14th July. Members are concerned about refugees. The group is involved with the Grobe project which is offering organisations to converse about this issue and a chance to air concerns.

Northampton Inter Faith Forum

  • The NIFF conference went very well.
  • The AGM is on 21 June.
  • NIFF has received funding for a Hate Crime project which is based around intelligence gathering. This will begin in July and information will still be reported to the Police. Luisa Jepson is working on faith and disability discrimination. NREC are working on racism and homophobia.

Northamptonshire Rape Crisis

  • Northamptonshire Rape Crisis is working with Barry Road School on building healthy relationships amongst pupils. Working at universities, schools to create safer campuses. ACTION: Pauline to give Aimee Luck details of SCCYC

 

Louise Musson

  • NBC are leading the way for Dementia awareness. Will be asking organisations to become more Dementia friendly in near future. Northampton General Hospital runs the Butterfly iniative to help with this issue.

Ann Bodsworth

·         NADASA has written to all Heads of Services to highlight the issue that there appears to be no strategic thinking. NADASA have offered to write the strategic plan.

 

Morcea Walker

 

·         Northampton Carnival on 11th June at The Racecourse 12 noon – 7.30pm. Morcea expressed her disappointment as the carnival was not allowed to be advertised in certain places. ACTION: Cllr King to investigate.
